💋Lip Blushing Journey

We will decide on color choice that best suits your skin tone and current lip color. * I will review how best to correct or improve lip shape if necessary.  *A topical numbing cream will be applied, which will take approximately 30 minutes to take effect.

 * I will use  a high-end  digital device to create the lip stain (all items that touch the skin are single use and are discarded after the treatment). The entire treatment will last about 3 and a half hours .

*There is no downtime, however the lip will take about two weeks to heal. Please follow After-care instructions and return  for the Perfecting session in 6 weeks. Between the initial treatment and the Perfecting session, you may experience fading of the treatment area which is completely normal. ( Everyones healing process may vary due to the genetics and lifestyle) This is natural and part of the healing  process.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:

* Your lips cannot be dry for the procedure.  If they are dry, we will need to reschedule!

* You may exfoliate 3 days before your appointment to remove any dry skin.  You can use a lip scrub or create your own using a little honey and brown sugar.

* For the week leading up to the appointment you must moisturize your lips as much as possible (I recommend using Aquaphor).

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A LIP MICROPIGMENTATION ?

If you ever had cold sores you do carry the virus for life. A few days before the procedure, you should start taking tablets that prevent any outbreaks. Please consult with your Dr.

* For about two days before the treatment,  you should not drink any alcohol or take aspirin (both thin blood) and do not take ibuprofen tablets or antibiotics (could slow down the healing process).

* Cigarette smoking can also slow down the healing process

📢 Keep in mind that using Anti-aging products containing retinols, salicylic, lactic acid, alfa hydroxy or any products alike are contradictions in lip micropigmentation. DUE TO THE CHEMICALS/ACIDS FOUND IN THESE PRODUCTS THE PIGMENT CAN APPEAR BLURRY UNDER THE SKIN, CHANGE IN COLOR, FADE PREMATURELY OR NOT RETAIN AT ALL.

After the procedure is healed and you resume using the above mentioned products, they will still impact the longevity of the procedure. The creams and acids can travel up to 2 inches under the Skin and could cause premature fading, blurring, color changes or no retention at all.

📢 Understand that having tanned skin at the time of the procedure is a contradiction in permanent makeup! Tanned skin will bleed, possibly heal darker and can or will fade to an ashy color as the tan fades. The pigment can and will change in color, fade prematurely or not retain.

IS EVERYONE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THIS SERVICE?

Please read carefully. If any of the following apply to you, this service is not recommended.

✨️If you are a smoker or have a history of MRSA, pigment may not retain properly and may distort.
✨️Have psoriasis in the treatment area
✨️Have an auto-immune disease
✨️Have a thyroid/graves disease (medication may cause pigment not to retain properly)
✨️Have history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
✨️Currently undergoing chemotherapy
✨️Pregnant or Nursing (No exceptions - you cannot have this service)
✨️Diabetes Type 1 or 2 (Due to slow healing and infection, color may or may not heal well)

✨️If you are under doctors care and have questions AT ALL about being able to have this procedure, it is your responsibility to meet with your doctor and get written approval.

Even if none of the above apply, Lip Blushing is a Cosmetic Tattoo, and the skin can be unpredictable. It's up to your skin to retain the pigment. Generally results are successful.

✨️ Preparation and follow-up care are essential to achieving remarkable outcomes. ✨️

LIP BLUSHING BEFORE CARE

INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOW!

  • Absolutely NO sun, sweating, or tanning prior to the procedure and up to 1 week after the procedure!. Avoid tanning or sun exposure on your face prior to your procedure. The tan will exfoliate after a few days taking color with it as it fades.
  • Do not work-out the day of the procedure as the body heat expands the pores. It is recommended not to sweat (heavily) for the first week after the procedure. Sweat is salty and can prematurely fade the treated area.

  • DO NOT Have any facial treatments prior to your appointment for one month this includes : BOTOX, LASER, FILLERS, CHEMICAL PEELS, (COSMETIC SURGERIES ETC for 6 weeks prior to your appointment with us). This may result in unnecessary complications for both procedures.

  •  Getting a procedure while on your menstrual cycle can make the treated area hyper-sensitive.
  • You have to be off Accutane for 1 year. NO Exceptions!
  • Dark Skin types please note that your permanent makeup will not appear as bold as lighter skin types. (Indian, African American, Filipino, etc.)
  •  Do NOT take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 48-72 hrs prior to your procedure.  Tylenol is fine.

LIP BLUSH AFTER CARE

  • Remember, place nothing on the treated area (except your aftercare product) until healed. This this means no makeup, creams, water (except for cleansing as detailed below), etc.
  • After your procedure, your skin will start forming a protective scab. You may see fluid or ooze on the skin from lymph secretion. The fluid should be dabbed and blotted off with a sterile gauze pad. It can crust the skin over and prevent it from breathing and healing.
  • After 24 hours, clean the treated area daily with mild warm water and non-alcohol soap. Apply soapy solution on a sterile gauze and blot 4 to 5 times to clean. Then blot completely dry. Use patting motions only. No Scrubbing. No rubbing. No wiping. No scratching. Make sure the area is completely dry because germs love moisture!
  • Lips will ooze for a couple days and peel for a week or so. After sleeping, crust will have dried on the lips. Blot with water. Clean and apply aftercare product as directed. Try not to disturb the crust when cleaning and let it fall off by itself. Picking and pulling off skin that is not ready to come off will cause pigment loss and can pull out deeper tissue. The edges or lip Liner will be the last to fall off. Pulling this off will result in an uneven splotchy line or an indented scar.
  • Apply aftercare product on the clean and dry treated area. Place the ointment on the scabs that are beginning to form. If you place ointment on the area and it is not dry, this may cause irritation or an infection and could lead to color loss.
  • Keep your lips moist all the times with the aftercare product. After approximately 3 weeks after the procedure when no more scabs are present, discontinue the aftercare product. Begin to apply sunblock appropriate for lips to protect the pigment and a good sunscreen lip balm!
  • Lips will be tender at first after the procedure. Drink only through a straw. Choose to only eat foods you can place in your mouth with a fork without touching the lips!
  • Do not eat spicy foods or hot liquids for 48 hours after your procedure. It’s a good idea not to eat oily foods, salty foods, acidic foods or alcohol while healing.
  • Do not get toothpaste on your lips. It’s a good idea to brush your teeth with just water for 72 hrs post-treatment.
  • Do not bleach your teeth until your lips are healed.
  • Do not excessively stretch lips while they are healing with big smiles or pucker lips with smoking. Those motions push and pull against the lip edges, applying tension and friction between the strong normal skin surrounding the mouth and the broken inflamed lip edges. Lip skin is a continuation of the delicate mucous membrane of the mouth. It is not strong like normal skin.
  • AVOID  UV LIGHTS/SUN EXPOSURE, sweating, or tanning after  the procedure  2 TO 3  weeks are recommended. Avoid tanning or sun exposure on your face prior and after your procedure. The tan will exfoliate after a few days taking color with it as it fades.
  • Do not work-out the day of the procedure as the body heat expands the pores. It is recommended not to sweat (heavily) for the first week after the procedure. Sweat is salty and can prematurely fade the treated area.

✨️ Following the aftercare steps religiously makes the difference for a spectacular results. ✨️
